Health & Safety

At SYNLAB we are committed to providing a safe working environment for our people. We use a ‘top down and bottom up’ approach to Health and Safety. This includes:

  • Policy
  • Organisation
  • Planning
  • Monitoring
  • Audit
  • Review

The Group's health and safety policy is implemented in the following way. Sites begin by identifying potential risks and assessing possible exposure to these risks. They then launch corrective action, to eliminate the risk if possible (e.g. by substituting a harmless product for a hazardous one or automating a handling operation) or at least minimize it as far as possible, using protective equipment, procedures or better operator training.

  • Our goal is to eliminate workplace incidents by investigating all accidents and identifying the appropriate corrective actions.
  • We will identify all tasks that are carried out and develop the appropriate risk assessment as part of a continuous programme.
  • We will publicise all accidents throughout the relevant business stream or group as appropriate as an information sharing programme
  • We are committed to continuous training, and adherence to strict standards to ensure the safety of our employees and anyone who may be affected by our undertakings.
  • All chemicals used will be assessed and the information shared to all employees
  • All machinery will conform to the appropriate Health and Safety legislation
  • All contractors will have to supply Health and safety information as requested along with the relevant method statements and risk assessments prior to working for us.
  • We will encourage employees to play an active part in improving the health and safety standards within SYNLAB.
  • Our employees health and safety training starts on the very first day of employment with a comprehensive induction programme
  • Each manager/supervisor will by personal example show the importance of health and safety in our company.
  • By continual auditing we will ensure adherence to our health and safety policies and procedures.
